This is my first RC tank and what a brilliant model. It looks imposing, the sound is fantastic and the smoke system, especially from the barrel is awesome. The instructions are a little confusing but that's a minor issue that quickly disappears once you start using the tank. I'm looking forward to buying my next model!!

This tank is a knockout! It has everything, even a recoiling barrel when you fire. A joy to operate. These guys got it safely to Canada without a hitch and in 10 days...very good seller. One thing though, the supplied battery charger won't work in North America, so you will have to buy one locally (220v and won't fit our wall plugs).

I had a Heng Long and a couple of Tamiya full option tanks around 18 years ago, sold them and soon regretted it, so I thought it was time I treated myself I'd heard good things about Taigen so ordered a Tiger 1 early production full metal upgrade , I noted it was 12-50pm when the order went though so I wasn't expecting it to be delivered next day by was surprised when it turned up at my door the next day at 12-30pm great service from Nitrotek and what a great tank as well, initial impressions are it 's actually better than the Tamiya's at least the Tamiya's back then.

I knew that this tank would be expensive for me because I live in Norway.
Shipping and customs are expensive for Norwegians.
Selected Nitrotek since I have read that they have good customer service and that they sell the Tigen brand.
Out of photos it's not easy to judge how nice the tank is, so I hoped it was great especially considering the total price.
The tank is absolutely beautiful, heavy and feels like it's good quality to.
Nitrotek was shipping fast and it was a trouble free trade.
All I have to put my finger on is the front-mounted spare belt that is painted plastic
But spare metal belts are on the way

This arrived today and the much anticipated box opening took place.. On initial inspection the build quality not quite what I expected as far as metal parts, but good nonetheless. The instructions are not particularly detailed as to opening the thing to place the battery in position. Namely its not just a question of sliding the lever near the mudflap and lifting. You also have to disconnect the plastic pipes to the other exhaust parts. Also once the lid was open I found a small 2 pin connector adrift, with only one location it would possibly go, but the plug was too big. having seen a video of one of these open, I knew it was correct, but the only way to fit it was to shave a certain amount off all 4 sides of the plug..no mean feat with a nail file.. On further investigation it is apparently for a rear light that you can fit.. Overall though immensely pleased and would recommend..

just had a quick go with the tiger, as it is 9 30 on a Tuesday evening evening.
what can I say, absolutely brilliant. cant wait to get it outside for a proper run.
I ordered this on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday, with superb packaging via an amazing courier service.
the tiger is bigger than I was expecting and heaver than I thought it would be, which all makes for a wonderful machine.
the quality is excellent apart from the tank commander but you don't buy a tank like this for the commander.
everything worked first time. the sound of the machine gun, engine, recoil and turret movement were loud and drowned out the TV hence only a quick go. don't want the wife to complain!!!
to say I am pleased is an understatement.
well worth the purchase price.

Great machine! You cannot get better value than this epic tank. The detail is great and she is real solid, very heavy... The paint job is great. The suspension is a joy to watch. Very good mechanical function of this Tiger, and sounds great.
Good maneuverability, and plenty of torque for rough stuff.

If you want to get into 1:16 tanks these Taigen versions are very very good, you will soon start to want more. And possibly mods...
A whole great modding community out there to keep your wallet light, and other half rolling her eyes at you. >_< Haha!

If anything is broken over the years in the heat of battle there are parts beyond belief out there. So don't stress it! :)
That's if you so wish to mod this already fine tank. Love it.

I would recommend this tank to anyone, especially if you play a certain online tank game... You know who you are out there. ^_^;

Very happy with the quick and no fuss from Nitrotek! Great company! I would so very much love to see more versions of these Taigen tanks here in the future. And I bet there are loads of people out there too that would love to see them.

I have just got the King Tiger from here on Nitrotek too.
Might give the old wallet a break... But not too long, that late version Tiger looks mighty tempting too.

Afgelopen maand heb ik de Taigen Tiger 1 besteld en binnen 2 dagen in huis gekregen.

De tank komt in een nette doos veel mooier dan de doos die Heng Long levert.

De kleur van de Tiger is een paar tinten donkerder ge-airbrushed dan op de foto's maar daardoor oogt dit ook beter & realistischer.

De tank is grotendeels van metaal, eigenlijk is alleen het bovendek van kunststof.

De tank weegt met accu maar liefst 7 kilo en dat is te zien aan het rijgedrag- zeer realistisch !

Verder komt de tank o.a. met :

- volledig metalen tracks
- metalen gearbox
- metalen aandrijf/loopwielen
- metalen suspension arms
- metalen loop
- metalen koepel
- metalen onderbak met track span systeem ingebouwd


De tank komt met een regelbaar volume in te stellen van zacht naar echt hard.

Je kunt als je even geen geluid wilt het gehele geluid dempen door middel van een volume knop.

Als de tank rijd maakt hij een realistisch track geluid ook al staat het volume uit.

De metalen tracks zijn niet stil maar daardoor draagt dit wel bij aan het realistische effect.

De tank bevat het nieuwe RX-18 board met en 2.4 Ghz zender, in de zender gaan 6 AA penlites en geen 8 zoals vermeld.

De nauwkeurigheid hiervan is stukken beter dan de FM systemen en je kunt dan ook in 2 snelheden rijden.

Er zit ook op de zender een trim knop waarmee je de draai-snelheid kunt regelen voor een meer of minder realistisch effect.

Ook kun je vanaf de zender de elevatie van de loop regelen.

De ingebouwde rookgenerator is tevens grappig maar let er op dat je deze niet te veel bijvult anders neemt de werking af.

Enkele druppels via de uitlaten is al voldoende om het systeem bij te vullen.

De rookgenerator kan net als het geluid ook uitgeschakeld worden d.m.v. een knop indien gewenst.

De tank komt met een BB gun die behoorlijk hard en ver schiet.

Bij een schot volgt er ook een gesimuleerde terugslag op de tank, erg grappig.

Ook de BB gun eenheid kun je uitschalen naar wens d.m.v. van een knop onder het schutters-luik.

Je kan de terugslag ook eventueel uitzetten mocht je dit niets vinden simpelweg door het stekkertje van het RX-18 board los te koppelen, de tank en BB eenheid
werken dan nog gewoon maar dan zonder terugslag.

Ook kun je vanaf de zender de ingebouwd MG machinegeweer bedien d.m.v het overhalen van een knop - je hoort dan het MG geluid en ziet d.m.v. van een rode knipperende led gesimuleerd mondingsvuur.

Verder zit er ook verlichting op de tank, voorop op de Tiger 1 zitten 2 schijnwerpers met daarin 2 heldere witte Leds ingebouwd, erg grappig om 's avonds te rijden

De tank word geleverd met goeie decals en een doosje kogeltjes, een flesje rookvloeistof en sleepkabels en een een Duitse tankcommandant.

Ook word er een 2200 Mah NimH accu meegeleverd met een EU adapter, de looptijd met de originele accu is ongeveer 20 minuten.

Plug je er een 4500 of 5000 Mah in dan is de gebruikstijd ruim 45 minuten tot een uur !

******1 tip van mij - Zet de boutjes onder de dopjes van de voorste loopwielen even vast met Loctite, deze willen nog wel eens los komen in het begin (je kan de dopjes met een schroevendraaier los wippen)****


Al met al vind ik het een leuke tank voor het geld en raad ik de Tiger 1 van Taigen zeker aan als modelbouw liefhebber !

Mijn volgende aanschaf bij Nitrotek.nl gaat dan ook de Taigen King Tiger worden.
