The Piper J3 is a large scale model from StarMax. This beautifully finished aeroplane has a 1.4 metre wingspan, that's over four and a half feet! This enormous size makes it very stable even in windy conditions and makes it easier to control. Not only that, but with a wingspan this big, it is one of the most impressive planes on the market at this amazing price.

It is almost completely built straight out of the box and all you need to get this classic aeroplane airbourne is included in the pack, but some final assembly steps will be required. This model is very well made. The J3 is not only lightweight but is durable as well, built to give a long life of fun flying. The J3 is exceedingly stable, and will fly at low speeds, which makes it safe and fun, even for the beginner. It is also possible to fly these planes at low altitude, great for when you're learning so those crashes aren't too severe!

Like all our Starmax RTF models, the Piper J-3 is built to a very high standard and designed to reflect the looks of the real model faithfully. It is equipped with a very powerful brushless motor, an ESC and all of the necessary electronics installed. All you need to get this bird airborne is 8x AAbatteries for the transmitter, balance charger and AC/DC adapter that are available as optional extras above. The radio equipment supplied with the plane is a Starmax 4ch 2.4GHz transmitter and 6ch receiver, allowing many operators to fly at the same time as well as improved range.

The Piper J-3 Cub is a small, simple, light aircraft that was built between 1937 and 1947 by Piper aircraft. With tandem (fore and aft) seating, it was intended for flight training but became one of the most popular and best-known light aircraft of all time. The Cub's simplicity, affordability and popularity invokes comparisons to the Ford Model Tautomobile. It was used successfully in a number of military variants and this is the model we have here for you.
