The V636 Skylark is an entry level model from WL Toys perfect for beginners buying their first radio controlled quadcopter. The feature list is impressive considering the low price with features including a 6 axis gyro system and headless flight mode (see below for explanation) usually only being found on more expensive models. The on board 6-axis gyro with adjustable control sensitivity makes flying it super easy as the gyro acts like a kind of auto pilot, automatically keeping the Skylark stable during flight even if the wind blows.

Once you have mastered the basics you can increase the sensitivity of the transmitter and learn how to perform tricks like full 360 degree loops.

The V636 comes ready to go with a 2.4GHz transmitter with back lit LCD screen for easier configuration.

The new headless compass mode makes flying the Skylark much easier. Without this feature, a quadcopter will be controlled like a helicopter whereby to go in a certain direction the helicopter must be rotated to face that direction and then you go forward. With the compass turned on it no longer matters which way the quadcopter is pointing, when you push forward on the transmitter the quadcopter will always move away from the take off position, and the same with the other directions regardless of which way it is pointing. The quadcopter is a pleasure to fly with the built in 6 axis gyro system ensuring stable flight even outdoors. The bright LED lights look great in the dark and allow night flight as they indicate direction of flight and light the flight path. Included with the V636 is a 2.4GHz LCD transmitter that allows multiple models to be used in the same area without interference. Please note the colour will be chosen at random.

A well priced first time quad with plenty of power options to help you progress. Around one hour to charge. Very capable for its size. works well and looks real nice too and has had plenty of tumbles and has held up very well. I have sourced a second battery as flight time of around 8 mins soon passes. Ordered Thursday delivered Friday 10/10 for nitrotek. (Posted on 21/03/2015)
