We have a large range of radio control model servos in various sizes and powers with plastic and metal gears. The servos are classed by the size and by how much weight they can lift. So for example a 9kg servo could take 9kg of resistance. Some servos have metal gears that although more expensive are less likely to crunch in a crash.
