RC Helicopters - The Remote Control Helicopter Section
Discover the best radio controlled helicopters from around the world including Esky and Copter-X. Not to be confused with a toy remote control helicopter that are found in toy shops, these are proper high quality, feature packed helicopters. Our rc helicopters are divided into four categories:
- 1. Micro Radio Controlled Helicopters - These little rc helicopters are lots of fun and easy to fly even for younger pilots. They are crash resistant and can be flown with only a few minutes practice. Our micro rc helicopters are 4 channel meaning you have full 3D control and unlike the 2-3 channel toy shop ones, you can also bank left and right.
- 2. Twin Blade Radio Controlled Helicopters - Featuring two sets of main blades which rotate in different directions. This makes them more stable in flight than single blade rc helicopters and therefore much easier to learn on. If you have never flown a radio controlled helicopter before starting with a twin blade helicopter before moving onto a single blade is recommended.
- 3. Fixed Pitch Radio Controlled Helicopters - The next step would be to learn how to fly a single blade remote control helicopter. These are more difficult to fly so the optional training set is recommended as this will stop the helicopter from toppling over. Fixed pitch means the blades are at a locked angle so they are simpler in construction than the collective pitch ones and therefore cheaper and easier to repair if you crash.
- 4. Collective Pitch Radio Controlled Helicopters - It is possible to learn how to fly a radio controlled helicopter on a collective pitch model although they are more expensive than the fixed pitch ones if you crash and need to make repairs. Collective pitch means that when you increase the throttle the blades automatically also angle upwards to give massive amounts of lift. It's this extra lift that allows these rc helicopters to perform stunts such as flying upside down and doing loops etc.
